Kathryn grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and is a graduate
of Detroit Lakes High School. She was awarded first place in the
State of Minnesota National Music Teachers Association Student Composition
Competition. She has been featured on
the local TV show “Inspiring People;” and is the youngest student
competitor/member of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association.
Some interesting facts about Kathryn is that she established her
own piano studio at age 14! She has been the piano and organ accompanist at
Holy Rosary Catholic Church for 10 years.
Her pet peeve is when people are driving in the passing lane, and not
passing! Kathryn becomes the first Miss Twin Cities to share the same title as her sister did - Kari Knuttila Heisler was Miss Twin Cities 2001, and went on to become Miss Minnesota 2001!
